Don McVay Sr. Memorial UKC event coming up

WEST LAFAYETTE – The Coshocton County Beagle Club invites the local residents of Coshocton and surrounding areas to the 16th annual Don McVay Sr. Memorial UKC beagle field trial being held at Schumaker Farms, 52441 County Road 16 in West Lafayette.

The event, however, is more than just a field trial. It is a four day event focused on fun for the whole family. Activities start at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 with a corn hole tournament /meet n’ greet ($10 a team). On Friday, Sept. 8, UKC Champion classes compete. Saturday, Sept. 9 is the biggest day with UKC Registered competition, Purina seminars, the Memorial Money Wheel where you can win cash and prizes, a children’s puppy show, a UKC dog show for beagles entered in weekend competition, the Don McVay Sr. scholarship winner ceremony and the end of the night concludes with a raffle totaling more than $30,000 given away. This year’s top prize is a customized brand new ATV for hunters and many other great prizes. Sunday, Sept. 10 concludes competition with the UKC Grand Champion.  In the afternoon the top scoring beagle will be named Top Dog and the winner of this year’s trial.
