Donis Pope

Donis Pope, 84, of Coshocton passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2020 at his home. He was born in Coshocton County on Jan. 1, 1936 to the late Howard and Ana (Hoffman) Pope.

Donis aka “Rab” graduated from Roscoe High School in 1954 and served in the Army Reserves. He was a lifelong farmer and worked at Clows 30 plus years before retiring. He loved NASCAR and was a big Dale Earnhardt fan. He also enjoyed tractor pulling. In his retirement years he loved cruising around the county back roads sightseeing, visiting friends and grabbing an ice cream cone. Donis was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he absolutely loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were the light of his life.

Donis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce (Florence) Pope; daughters, Janel (Gene) Mullett, Jody Pope (fiancé Jeff Mizer), grandchildren, Stephanie Hoffman, Seth (Britney) Mullett, Jordon (Macee) Mullett. Brandon Cox (Heather Maxwell), Austin Wilson, Brooke Wilson; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Kinsley Hoffman, Kabe Bylaw, Ava and Owen Mullett; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with is parents he is preceded in death by his infant twin daughters; siblings, Margaret (Glenn) Adams, Joyce (Gene) Guthrie, Gladys (Robert) Ogle, Gene Pope, Reva Jones, and an infant brother.

The family would like to thank Interim Hospice for their kindness and compassion throughout this process.

Per Don’s wishes there will be no services at this time and a cremation will take place. The Miller Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements. An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com.
