Edgar “Leo” Zimmer

Edgar “Leo” Zimmer, 88, of Coshocton passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Altercare of Coshocton. He was born on December 30, 1933 in Coshocton to the late Edgar and Mary (Boyer) Zimmer. On July 19, 1952, he married Marilyn (DeGendt) Zimmer, who survives. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Leo was a semi driver and spent most of his career as the owner and operator of Leo’s Garage. It was his job and his passion. He spent many hours in his garage fixing cars.

Along with his wife, Leo is survived by his children, Dick (Bonnie) Zimmer and Melissa (Larry) Ridenbaugh, both of Coshocton; grandchildren, Chad Zimmer, Jamie (Scott) Schryock, Kristopher (Lauren) Zimmer, Amber (Drew) Deptola. Blake Zimmer and Ben Zimmer; 7 great-grandchildren and siblings, Danna Hiler and Gary (Linda Young) Zimmer.

Leo is preceded in death by his son, Kris Allan Zimmer.

Calling hours were at the Miller Funeral Home on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 12pm to 1pm. A funeral service followed at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Mitchell officiating. Burial followed the service at South Lawn Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a “Thank you” to the staff at Altercare and Interim Hospice for the care they gave Leo.
