Eileen Norris

SEBRING – Norma Eileen Norris, 93, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017 at Copeland Oaks Retirement Center, where she was a resident.

She was born Dec. 19, 1923 in Coshocton County to the late Joseph M. and Ethel A. (Shaw) Hebron.  After graduating from Warsaw High School in 1941, she attended Ohio University for two years, and graduated from Muskingum College in 1965.  She served two years in the US Navy Hospital Corps, stationed at the Naval Hospital in Long Beach, CA as a Pharmacist Mate Third Class. She married Rev. Francis “Pete” Norris on March 21, 1948, who preceded her in death on May 21, 2014.

She was a retired elementary school teacher and a homemaker, a member of First Family of Ohio, past-President of the Wooster District of the United Methodist Women, a Sunday school teacher and choir member of the United Methodist Church for over 50 years, and she volunteered at the Ohio Genealogical Library in Mansfield.

She is survived by her sons, David (Marion) Norris of Worden, IL, Kevin L. (Bridgett) Norris of Mogadore, OH, and Bryan L. (Patty) Norris of Sharon, PA; seven grandchildren, Dr. Scott (Amanda)Norris of St. Louis, MO, Molly (Ben)Schmidt of Madison, WI, Jennifer (Jason)McCormick of Norton, OH, Eric (Beth)Norris of Tallmadge, OH, Brenda (Russell)Johnston of Encinitas, CA, Christopher (Bethany)Norris of Erie, PA, and Julie Norris of Sharon, PA, twelve great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Floyd (Eva) Hebron of Columbus, and Lewis (Johnalee) Hebron of Grand Rapids, MI.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Hebron, and two nephews, Kyle and Tim Hebron.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Sister Janice Kay Bachman officiating. Burial will follow at Canal Lewisville Cemetery.  Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
