Esther Irene Freshwater

Esther Irene Freshwater, 94, of Mount Vernon passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon. She was born on April 27, 1928 in Muskingum County to the late Wilbur and Velma (Baughman) Untied. She worked at Essex Wire in Zanesville, Ohio Plastic in Frazeysburg, she was a cook at Harrod’s Nursing Home in Centerburg, she was a custodian at Coshocton City Schools and a volunteer “Grandma” at Headstart in Coshocton. She enjoyed traveling with family, quilting and reading. She was a seamstress and hung wallpaper for many people. She always kept a crossword puzzle close by. She loved all of her grandchildren and will be missed.

Esther is survived by her children, Carol (Keith) Rine of Mount Vernon, Reba Shrenier of Galion and Kevin (Kathie) Freshwater of West Lafayette; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; Brothers, Virgil (Sandy) Untied and Arthur (Ruth) Untied and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her, sisters, Pearl Trego and Leona Johnson and brothers, Elbert, Kerney, Paul and Gale Untied as well as baby Grace Untied.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 1pm with Pastor Brian Humphreys officiating, an hour of calling hours will be held prior to the service.
