Exhibit opens at Pomerene
COSHOCTON – Jo Rice Art Quilts will be on display at the Pomerene Center for the Arts now through Sunday, Aug. 11. An opening for the exhibit will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 14.
This exhibit is not exclusively a retrospective look backward but rather, a look at a continued and growing body of Rice’s work.
For a woman who declined to make a square in 1976 for a bicentennial community quilt because she “did not want to sit around all day and quilt,” this is what Rice has become, a Knox County woman who sits around all day, year after year, making beautiful quilted works of art.
