Fatal accident occurred on SR 16

COSHOCTON – On March 29, the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received several 911 calls in reference to an accident with injuries on State Route 16 near the Muskingum County line. Upon arrival of emergency personnel, it was found that a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country had struck a 2016 GMC Yukon causing heavy damage to both vehicles.  The GMC was operated by 31 year old Stacey Hogan of Marysville. Hogan and her three children were transported to Genesis Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

The Chrysler was operated by Carrie Yingling of Conesville. Yingling and her two children were also transported to Genesis Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. A passenger in the Yingling vehicle, 48 year old Kellie Smith of Newark, sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Coshocton County Coroner Dr. Robert Gwinn.

Assisting at the scene was Conesville Fire Dept., Dresden Fire Dept., Coshocton County EMS, Coshocton County Coroner’s Office, REACT, and Prince’s Wrecker Service. This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
