Fatal car accident reported

COSHOCTON – On Oct. 4, at 7:46 p.m., dispatched received a 911 call advising of a vehicle accident near 45216 CR. 55 and that there was a female on the side of the road yelling. Upon arrival of deputies, they checked the driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old male from Coshocton, and determined that he was deceased. After speaking with the passenger, a 47-year-old female from Coshocton, it was determined that the male was traveling west bound on CR. 55 when he lost control of his truck and went off the left side of the road striking trees and an embankment. The female passenger was evaluated by EMS and was released without injury. Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The names of the involved parties are being withheld pending the notification of the family. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this accident. Assisting deputies at the scene was Coshocton County EMS, Jackson Township Fire Department, Coshocton County React and Prince’s Wrecker Service. This accident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
