Florence Eileen Jones

Florence Eileen Jones, 92, of Coshocton, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. She was born in Coshocton on Jan. 8, 1930, to the late Robert and Mary Nadine (Holder) Foster.

Florence graduated from Roscoe High School in 1948, and went on to marry William “Bill” Thomas Jones on March 20, 1953, who preceded her in death in 1981. She worked as a telephone operator at Ohio Bell for many years before retiring. Florence was a member of the Ohio Bell Pioneers, and was an auxiliary member of the Coshocton County Vietnam Veterans of America, and volunteered at the Red Cross blood drives. She loved her pets, had a green thumb and enjoyed flowers, and was excellent at crafts including ceramics. She deeply loved her family, and was always very generous and helpful in a way that respected people’s dignity.

Florence is survived by her two daughters, Melinda Jones and Charlene Cook and two grandchildren, Thomas and Sam Cook. She is also survived by her brothers, William Foster and Bruce Foster, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and two loving cats.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Bill, sisters Roberta and Gail Foster, and brothers Roland and Dale Foster.

Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. officiated by Evangelist Lloyd Tenney. Burial will take place at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Florence’s name to Coshocton County Humane Society, 449 Downtowner Plaza, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
