Fresno church to celebrate rural life

FRESNO – Fresno United Methodist Church will host Rural Life Sunday on Sunday, Sept. 9.

This celebration of farm life will include an outdoor worship service at 10:30 a.m. at Fresno Park. Pastor Dan Eggan will bring the message and Charlotte Marsh and The Miller Girls will be the soloists.

A covered dish dinner will follow the service. There will be a children’s pedal tractor pull with five weight classes – 30 to 105 pounds plus an old timers’ class. Other activities include a hayride and parade of tractors and farm equipment, horseshoes, cornhole toss, watermelon eating contest, cake walks, petting zoo by Ridgewood FFA, and ice cream, popcorn and popsicles will be served in the afternoon. Attendees are encouraged to drive their tractor to the event.
