George H. Hartsock Jr.

George Howard Hartsock, Jr., 58, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021 at the Coshocton Regional Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 14, 1963 in Coshocton to George H. Hartsock, Sr. and Helen J. (Swartz) Hartsock of Warsaw. He was a 1981 graduate of River View High School, and later the West Virginia Farrier School. He was a former deputy for the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, where he retired as a detective in 2013. He loved animals. He cared for and shoed many horses through the years, and he loved his favorite dog, “Gator.” He had numerous other talents as well, including woodworking, gunsmithing, and farming. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and most of all he loved his very special nieces and nephew and cherished every second he was able to spend with them.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ann Hartsock of Warsaw, whom he married May 22, 1998; a brother, Kelly (Sara) Hartsock of Warsaw; a sister, Stacey (Craig) Shriver of Warsaw; his nieces and nephew, Jessica & Kelsey Hartsock, and Caleb & Kaily Shriver; and many other close family members and friends.

George was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willard & Sara Hartsock, and Russell & Beatrice Swartz.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastors Ric Bonice and Dave Kraft officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 18 from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com.
