Girl Scouts sponsor Princess Ball
Girl Scout Troop 1988 sponsored the second annual Princess Ball at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 20. More than 60 girls danced the night away in their best dresses. The fellowship hall was decorated in Disney princess decorations and pizza was donated for the evening by Papa John’s, Plus One Pizza, Domino’s Pizza, and Your Pizza. “The point is not to be beautiful on the outside, but to be beautiful on the inside and let that beauty shine through,” said Jackie Hale, a Girl Scout cadet, about the evening. All the money raised from the evening will go toward funding a trip to Georgia for the Scouts.

This was such a wonderful event. The girls looked beautiful in their fancy dresses & had such a fun time dancing with the Princess. I heard one little girl say to her mom "mommy, I got to dance with the Princess", whilst having a huge grin on her face. Cute food decorations & lite dinner for all the guests. The first 24 girls to prepay received a tiara, decorated wine glass & other goodies. Every girl there received a prize that were donated to the troop for the event.
This is our 2nd year doing this and the second time we have been given blessings from all these little princess girls. Our troop wants all girls to know they are beautiful and the only way we knew how to was through the eyes of other girls. My Cadette troop is small (5 girls) but they put everything they could into the girls that came. They are teenagers so of course they struggle themselves and we butt heads but at the end of the day its all about the little girls who came to the "Royal Princess Ball" to have fairytale memories that will stick with them throughout their lives. As a leader I feel all girls need to know that make-up is just a mask and brand names are just that a brand all they need is love for themselves and the rest will be taken care of. Our goal is that each girl walked away knowing they are beautiful from the inside out. When they feel good from the inside out is when they shine the brightest. My favorite memory was watching all the girls coming in and registering with that twinkle in their eye and excitment in their face! Nothing could be more rewarding than that… It was priceless. Thank you to all the people that helped us to get this going again this year. We are very appreciative to all of you!
