| July 11, 2017

COSHOCTON – Head Start and Early Head Start is enrolling now for the fall 2017-2018 school year. They are a federally-funded community based program that supports low income families starting with pregnant moms, infants, toddlers and preschoolers from the age of 3 to 5 years old. Head Start is geared to help with school readiness, learn about health and nutrition, work on social emotional well-being, and develop strong cognitive skills.

Our Early Head Start program offers home base visits that are 90 minutes once a week with a qualified home visitor. Schedules can be planned out with your designated home visitor for whatever time is best for your family and home visitor. The Early Head Start program supports physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language of each child. Children enrolled in home visits are encouraged to come to socializations meetings where other home based children will play and learn together twice a month.

Early Head Start also offers center based classes that are located in our Hilltop site off of County Road 16. Center based children are worked with by highly qualified staff and follow the guidelines of teaching and supporting physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language of each child. Children are provided two free snacks through the day and a free lunch. All snacks and lunches are followed by FDA regulations. Early Head Start center base is a self-transport program.

Our Head Start program in Coshocton County has three different sites, Hilltop site, South Lawn site, and a classroom with the Coshocton County Career Center. This year we will be offering more full-day classes, and a few half-day classes. The Head Start program will work on educating children and families about health, nutrition, and parent involvement. Children will learn about social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language skills. Children that are in full day classrooms will be provided two healthy snacks and a healthy lunch. Children in a half day classroom will be provided with a healthy snack and lunch. Transportation can be provided depending on availability. Come join our program and be a part of our school family. You can reach one of our family advocates to schedule an appointment at our Hilltop site at 740-622-9537 or our South Lawn site at 740-622-8665.
