James L. Daugherty

James Lester “Jim” Daugherty, 87, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, surrounded by his family.

He was born March 22, 1934 in Mill Creek Township to the late Robert H. and Bernice (Martin) Daugherty. He was a 1952 graduate of Keene High School, and later served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957.

Jim was a longtime farmer and truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren & great-grandchildren, visiting with neighbors throughout Mill Creek Valley, and his red tractor. He was a member of Keene United Methodist Church and the Keene Grange.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose M. (Schmid) Daugherty of Coshocton, whom he married Sept. 11, 1955; his three children, Grant K. (Denise) Daugherty, Clark J. (Diane) Daugherty, and Michael E. (Barb) Daugherty, all of Coshocton; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, R. Martin (Greta) Daugherty of Coshocton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lois (Walter) Doughty.

Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. For the health and safety of family & friends, face masks are required for all guests. A private committal will take place at South Lawn Cemetery. www.fischerfuneralhome.com.
