JoLinda L. Bundy
JoLinda L. Bundy, 73, Newcomerstown, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 13, in the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital of the Ohio State University Medical Center.
JoLinda was born in Bellaire, Ohio, Belmont County, on May 5, 1939, a daughter of the late Robert A. “Pap” and Stella Margaret Steed Glasgow.
She attended Tiltonsville schools, Jefferson County, and was a homemaker for all her adult life. JoLinda was employed as a grinder at the former Simonds Industries, Newcomerstown, for several years before a disability retirement in 1978. She was also employed at Kurz-Kasch, Newcomerstown, as an assembler for a few years.
JoLinda enjoyed bowling and belonged to the Monday Night Bowlerettes League at Cy Young Lanes, Newcomerstown, for many years. She was also a former member of the Red Hat Society, Belmont County. One of JoLinda’s favorite activities was fishing; she must have learned her fishing skills from her father-in-law, the late Bill Bundy, as she became quite good at this sport for many years. She also enjoyed camping with her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Tom. JoLinda also enjoyed attending the Mountaineer Track and Gaming Casino, West Virginia. She especially enjoyed her overnight stays at the Casino complex and dining on her favorite meal, haddock.
She was always there for her family and friends and would freely give her time and comfort so that others would benefit. Also, JoLinda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, JoLinda was preceded in death by a son, David Bundy, Newcomerstown, who died in 1963, two brothers, James Glasgow, Houston, Texas, and Phillip “Butch” Glasgow, Dillonvale, a sister, Roberta Starkey, Salem Missouri, two step brothers, David Carson, Kankakee, Illinois, and Tom Carson, Diles’ Bottom, Ohio, and a step sister, Katherine Carson Robinson, St. Clairsville.
JoLinda is survived by her husband, Everett L. Bundy, Newcomerstown, whom she married on January 5, 1957. She also leaves to cherish her memories three daughters: Karen and husband Terry Stahl, Karole and husband Tim Kees, and Kathy and husband Tom Lindell, all of Newcomerstown. She always considered her son-in-law, Tom, as her own son. JoLinda is also survived by four grandsons and two granddaughters: Christopher Kyle and companion Carey Rice, Newcomerstown, Gary and wife Melissa Stahl, Gnadenhutten, Andrew and wife Katie Stahl, Newcomerstown, and Bryan Stahl and companion Ashley Decker, Newcomerstown, Jessica Kyle and companion Randy Emig, Newcomerstown, and Monique Robinson and companion Quenton Coe, New Philadelphia. There are also two step granddaughters, Stacie Lindell and companion Tony Roe, New Philadelphia, and Tiffany and husband Ross Swaldo, Tuscarawas, seven great grandchildren, Joseph Kyle, Newcomerstown, Haley Stahl, Ty Stahl, and Traye Stahl, all of Gnadenhutten, Bryson Stahl and Braxton Stahl, both of Newcomerstown, and Trenton Wright, New Philadelphia, a step great grandson, Rylan Swaldo, Tuscarawas, a brother and his wife, Robert and Patricia Glasgow, Mt. Pleasant, Ohio, and two sisters-in-law, Donna Glasgow, Dillonvale and Mary Alice Glasgow, Houston, Texas.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 17, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Ourant Funeral Home. Private family funeral services and burial will be held at West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown, on Monday, February 18, at the convenience of the family. Mr. James Tufford will conduct these services.
The family is requesting that memorials be made in JoLinda’s name to the Newcomerstown Church of the Nazarene, 363 Neighbor St., Newcomerstown 43832.
