Thomas, 89, of West Lafayette, passed away at Lafayette Pointe Nursing Home on Tuesday August 6, 2013.  Joyce was born in Coshocton on March 4, 1924 to the late William J. and Ruth (Bosson) Barrett.  She was a homemaker throughout most of her life and a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church.  Joyce loved spending time with her family, bowling in Newcomerstown with the Gutter Dusters Bowling League, and spent a lot of time in the outdoors going on hikes, looking for mushrooms and ginseng and watching the animals.  She is survived by her two daughters Linda D. Miller of West Lafayette and Julie A. (Stephen) Troendly of Fresno; a sister Gloria J. Stahl of Coshocton; five grandchildren Reagan L. Miller of Greyslake, IL, Derron T. Miller of Newcomerstown, Benjamin J. Troendly of Coshocton, Sarah (Christopher) Armintrout of Warsaw and Aaron M. Troendly of Fresno; one great grandson Hoyt Christopher Armintrout; sister in law Ruth E. Barrett of Coshocton; several nieces and nephews.  Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Francis E. Thomas whom passed away in 1988; a brother William J. Barrett; brother in law William Stahl and son in law Wayne E. Miller.  Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday August 9, 2013 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Sue Chidley officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Four Paws Pet Adoption Center and/or Health Services of Coshocton County, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.  An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com
