Karma J. Chaney

Karma J. Chaney, 80 of Coshocton, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Lafayette Pointe Nursing Home in West Lafayette, Ohio. She was born in Coshocton on October 17, 1940, to the late Lester S. “Friday” and Mary E. (Hardesty) Scherer.

Karma graduated from Roscoe High School in 1958 and went on to work for Gross’s Discounts as a clothing buyer. She later worked as a dental office receptionist/business assistant. Karma belonged to the Coshocton Canal Quilters for 20 years and was an award-winning quilter. She was also a member of the Ohio Canal Doll Club from 1980-2014, and Postcard Club. She collected porcelain dolls, loved bowling, was an avid Coshocton history buff, and was also a big animal lover.

Karma is survived by her son Richard Hayden Davis of Coshocton; brother Francis “Jake” Scherer of Akron; grandson Justin Cotterman.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by the love of her life, also referred to as her “main squeeze,” Marvin Donley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter & HATA: 21755 TR 164 Morgan Run Road, Coshocton, OH 43812.

A private graveside service will be held in Roscoe Cemetery on Tuesday March 9, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dale Sutton officiating.

The Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton is serving the family.
