Coakley001LAYLAND – Carolyn Kaye Coakley, 68, passed away suddenly at her home in Layland on Sunday, July 23, 2017.

Kaye was born April 11, 1949 in Millersburg to Max and Roma (Teeling) Reed.  She graduated from West Holmes High School in 1967.  She married Stanton Coakley on Sept. 14, 1968 in Palo Pinto, TX.  Stan was one lucky guy!

They had two great kids, Gabriel and grandson Max of Millerburg, and Joshua of Gambier.  Kaye taught the boys to drive and talked to them about girls. Dad always claimed to be busy (actually he was scared).  She did a great job of raising those boys.  She was a dog lover too.  Although her last dog, “Bentley”, died over six months ago, she visited his grave and talked to him every day.

Kaye was preceded in death by her father, Max Reed.

In addition to her husband, sons, and grandson, she leaves behind her mother, Roma Reed and sister Patricia (Kenny) Franks, both of Killbuck; and many other friends and relatives.

Cremation has taken place, and a private family graveside service will take place in Blissfield Cemetery with Pastor Ken Smailes officiating.  The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com

Memorial Donations may be directed to the Holmes Co. Dog Warden’s Department, 5387 CR 349 Millersburg, OH 44654, for the care and rehabilitation of “Grizz”.
