We will have ground beef available this week (grass-fed Jersey). A full complement of Jersey cuts will be available in early July. Lamb is in good supply with more scheduled to be processed this week. The garden has been a little slow due to the erratic weather but planting is almost finished. There are still some garden plots available at the Coshocton Community Garden behind Buehlers for anyone who wants to try their hand at gardening. There is no charge for the plots – call 623 -0685 for a plot. Carson House Farm features naturally grown and raised farm products.

Keene Creek Farm – the Mulletts

First, we need to apologize. The hot dogs the processor made for us do have MSG in them. When we ordered them the processor told us that there is no MSG in the hot dog recipe. But, when we picked them up, it was noted on the label. So, we apologize. Please be sure to read all labels if MSG is something you’re trying to avoid or have a sensitivity to.

We have a great selection of pork products available though. The processor made up some marinated loin chops for us (marinated in a garlic and butter sauce – they’re super juicy and tasty) and some MSG-free breakfast blend sausage (in bulk and patties). We also have plenty of brats for grilling this holiday weekend – all MSG-free. Our ribs are pretty amazing on the grill too. The last time we took hogs to the processor we had their fat rendered down into lard. It will be available in large tubs this weekend at Local Bounty. It will keep in the freezer. We’ll also have salad greens, romaine and eggs.

Mill Creek Homestead – the Adelsbergers

Lavender & Tea Tree foaming hand soap is back in stock. After CBS news reported this month that the FDA is reviewing the chemical triclosan in antibacterial hand soap, my natural hand soap has been flying off the store shelf! Lavender and Tea Tree essential oils are both naturally antibacterial in nature. Not only will it help kill germs, but is moisturizing as well. Organic jojoba oil will help keep your hands from drying out.  One happy customer also told me that it won’t loosen her acrylic nails! I have pumps and refill containers available.

Strawberry Hill Farm – the Meyers
We have a bumper crop of greens right now, so we’ll be bringing lots of salad mix (mixed lettuces), arugula, and mesclun to the store. Plus we’ll be bringing a little rhubarb again. Have a happy Memorial Day weekend, enjoying good food!

Thousand Hill Acres LLC – the Reeds
Whew! Our pork has been flying off of the shelves! We take that as a sign that our customers are satisfied with our selection of heritage breed pigs that we keep in our pastures. So, thank you all for that! We will be re-stocking all of our cuts before opening today.

Windy Hill Berry Farm & Vineyard – the Zelones
The garden is doing wonderfully. This week we will have spinach, romaine, arugula, mixed greens, kale, and rhubarb. We will also repeat our 2-1/2 dz. egg special and have some more Blueberry Banana bread and English Muffins. Try this recipe made with fresh rhubarb: French Rhubarb Pie Recipe *1 Egg Beaten *1 Cup White Sugar *1 tsp Vanilla *3 Tbsp Evaporated Milk *2 Cups Diced Rhubarb *2Tbsp Flour TOPPING:*3/4 Cup Flour *1/3 Cup Butter *1/2 Cup Brown Sugar *Preheat Oven to 400° Mix all of the first ingredients & put in an unbaked pie shell. Mix topping until crumbly. Put on top of filling. Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° for 30 min. Delicious served with cold milk from Wholesome Valley, available at the store.

Thank you all for your support.
