Local Bounty Update

| May 3, 2016

Good morning!

It’s still chilly outside, so let’s turn the heat up in the kitchen!  How about making some chili.
Try something different and mix ground beef and ground lamb. Happy cooking!

Thank you to all our shoppers!
Have a wonderful week!

Keene Creek Farm

Many thanks to those of you who came out to our tasting last week at Local Bounty – we had both new and some of our faithful customers there. We hope you enjoyed everything we cooked up for you. According to the grapevine, many of you were missing our Rustic Herb Pizza Dough mixes. So, they’re back on our market shelf this week. Our sausage (in particular mild Italian brats – grill and then slice) make an excellent pizza topper. Six hogs went to butcher last week – so we will have a good selection of cuts back in stock soon. As always, we will be sure to keep you posted. Many, many thanks for your continued support. It really does mean the world to us.

Flying Pig Farm

This week the walking club will get to sample scones…blueberry, lavender, lemon and blueberry lemon! Stop in and get yours before they’re gone. We’ll also have blackberry, cherry, rhubarb and blueberry pies. Treat the mama in your life to something sweet! Our heirloom seedlings are doing well. We’ve also started succession plantings of lettuce to sell at the Bounty. Summer is on its way!

Epic Delights Bakery

My husband and I would like to thank all the staff at Local Bounty and also the shoppers for the warm welcomes we have received. We have enjoyed being a new addition to this very unique and friendly market and we look forward to keep on working with Local Bounty.

Epic Delights will be stocking our shelf with homemade bread and Reese’s Cup cupcakes this week. If you have not tried our Reese’s cupcakes you should give them a try. We are positive you will not be disappointed. The Reese’s cupcake consists of a super moist chocolate cake with a Reese’s cup baked into the center, topped with a peanut butter frosting. YUM!

We are doing a Mother’s Day special that consist of 7 mini cupcakes arranged into one large flower for only $4.99! You can check out pictures on the Local Bounty facebook or stop in at the store to choose from our different flavors of cake and to place your order.

Thank you and we look forward to meeting more Local Bounty shoppers and serve you with all the baked goods you will need!

Bob’s Pickle Patch/ Verda’s Hens

We will be bringing eggs to Local Bounty on Tuesday evening this week.  Eggs are so good, I even put an egg in my pie crust.  It always turns out flaky.  When you are buying eggs this week, ask for Verda’s pie crust recipe.  We appreciate your business.

Young Farms

The freezer is bursting at the seams with beef this week! At the end of the day Saturday, I delivered beef to the store, I apologize for the organized chaos in the freezer. Everything is now in stock! We also have a new item, beef short ribs. All our other items are as follows: bulk hamburger, bulk ground round, sirloin patties, cube steak, sirloin steak, T-bone steak, Porterhouse steak, tenderloin steak(filet), NY strip steak, ribeye steak, round steak, chuck roasts, rolled rump roasts, soup bones, and liver. Feel free to leave a request with one of the girls to pass along if there is something you would like but we don’t have. We can’t offer every cut every week but can do our best to get the cuts our customers want. Thank you for your continued support!

Mullet Apiaries

Mullet Apiaries – Happy May! The bees are going strong with the spring flow right now and sometimes they get a little crowded and swarm. FYI, a swarm is a group of hundreds of bees that will settle together on a branch or some other area, not just 10 or 12 that might be checking out your flowers. Don’t forget you can call us if you see a swarm in your yard (740-824-3915) and we can contact a beekeeper in your area to pick them up. If you like our cinnamon creamed honey, don’t worry, we will be restocking it. And of course, we have all our usual honey products available. Thank you for your business.

As always thank you for your support
