Good Morning!

It is a beautiful outside and most definitely summer.  We are starting to have more produce in so check often!

Did you know?

We are revamping our membership program!! Stay tuned for some exciting new incentives for becoming or continuing to be a member of Local Bounty. On that note, some of our membership info was misplaced in the process of changing hands on our board. We are only human and these things happen. If you are a 2014 member of Local Bounty, please let us know.

Kids Cooking Camp

It’s not too late to get your kids/grandkids signed up for this year’s Kids Cooking Camp (a collaborative effort with OSU Extension Coshocton Couny). This year’s camp will be Monday, July 28 through Friday, Aug. 1. Class sessions will be at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. with each class lasting around 40 minutes. There is a $30 class fee and scholarships are available. Registration forms are available at Local Bounty and at the OSU Extension Office (724 S. 7th St.).

Circle the Sun Farm

Freshly harvested red potatoes are now available at Local Bounty.

Flying Pig Farm

We’ve got jam! I’m so excited to have restocked all your favorites. Blueberry, Red Raspberry, and Spiced Almond Plum is back. Balancing baby and work is finally coming together. She’s becoming quite the little helper. We’ve decided not to continue growing sprouts due to lack of demand. If you would like to order sprouts I’ll supply them “as needed”. Please call 327-1029 two weeks ahead to allow growing time. Thank you for your support of our local foods!

Happy Summer!  It is wonderful outside, enjoy the warmth while it is here and soak in the sunshine.  This week at LB I will have Focaccia, and my new Fiery Focaccia.  It will have crushed red pepper on top ( that is how I make it at home for myself, I like it with a kick).  I will also have French Boule, perfect to grill, toast, sandwiches, PB&J, french toast, or just by itself right out of the bag.  No, worries, it only has 4 ingredients!  Both will be available later today.  Thanks!

Keene Creek Farm

We are introducing a new seasonal product this week – basil salt. It has two ingredients: basil and sea salt. It will be available as long as there is basil in our herb garden. Now, what to do with it…sprinkle it on freshly sliced tomatoes, flat-breads/pizzas or fresh mozzarella. It gives foods a super fresh, basil flavor. Ham loaf was a hit last week, sorry to keep you waiting so long for it. The peppered bacon, brats, sausage and marinated loin chops are all in good supply for now too. We have a few more hogs headed to the processor next week. We have also restocked our Aunt M’s Monster Mix – both containers available again (regular clam shell and the other in a glass mason jar that proceeds benefit Pelotonia – a bike ride organized to fund-raise for cancer research).
