Local Bounty update

| August 21, 2014

Good Morning,

There was a beautiful sunrise this morning, isn’t it a great time of year!  We hope you stop by and see us today, our hours are 10-6.  Tomorrow 10-6 and don’t forget Saturday 9-1.

Did you know?

Using our deliciously grown local veggies is easier than ever.  Pico De Gallo or Fresh Salsa is super quick to make and adds a splash of fresh flavor to your dinner.

4 ripe tomatoes, diced

1 med-large onion, diced

1 jalapeno or any pepper you choose, seeded and chopped finely (be careful to wash your hands well after handling jalapenos)

1/2 cup cilantro or parsley, chopped

salt and pepper to taste

squirt of lemon or lime juice

– Mix all ingredients and let sit for 10 minutes, then enjoy the fresh flavor of local grown ingredients!

French Boule is back!  This is a great all around bread, crisp crust and crumbly crumb.  It is wonderful toasted or for a sandwich/panini and only has 4 ingredients.  I will also have Focaccia today, it is the super soaker bread!  It will sop up sauce, soup, olive oil dip or anything else you can think of.  Don’t forget my herb infused wine jellies, they are made from Coshocton wine and great mixed with cream cheese for a fancy spread. It is almost Friday and if your stress it to the max, press the Reset Button with some of my Reset Button tea, specifically blended to chill you out!  Pick up some Mint Condition while you at it and mint out man, this tea is so good iced.  Farm update:  We got two new fluffy bantam chickens, they are funny looking!  I need your help, they still don’t have names!! On facebook, share their pic and post your name suggestion.  The name with the most likes wins a jar of Mint Condition tea!

Keene Creek Farm
Our freezer is packed side-to-side again. Canadian bacon is back along with the ever-so-popular ham loaf. Our brats make up into a quick pasta dinner. Grill them with fresh peppers, onions and diced tomatoes (put all the veggies in a veggie basket on the grill) and boil some penne. Cut the brats into bite-sized pieces, toss them and the veggies with the cooked penne – toss with a little marinara sauce and voila, a
healthy, quick all-in-one dinner.

Maple Hollow Farms
We are returning to Local Bounty this week to offer some of our farm-grown mums. There is no better way to welcome fall than with a mum (or two or three) on the stoop of your house.

Salad Bar Farms
We will offer canning tomatoes starting today at Local Bounty.
