Local Bounty update

| March 5, 2015

Only 15 days until spring, hang in there! We hope you notice our little spring face lift of the bounty when you come to the store, let us know what you think. Stop by to see what we are talking about today and tomorrow 10-6, Sat. 9-1.

Flying Pig Farm

We’re excited to introduce Gluten-free Bread and Buns! I’ve had some experience with gluten-free products and think you’ll be happy with these – great taste, no falling apart and it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Look for it in the cooler. We also have a list hanging by our product display so you can pre-order for the following week. We also have our fresh Wheat, Garlic Herb and Cinnamon Raisin Bread and Sandwich Buns! Happy eating. 🙂

Hillbippie

Good morning!  Can you feel it in the air?  Almost?  It WILL be spring soon, it is bound to happen. In honor of this glorious season I will be offering a Spring Tonic Tea, comprised of Nettle, Alfalfa, Red Clover and Spearmint. These herbs offer high levels of vitamins and nutrients needed after a long winter.  Nettle leaf alone has a high concentration of Vitamin A and C as well as Chlorophyll. You can drink this tea hot or iced and it has a pleasant mild minty flavor.  Focaccia and French Boule will be in the market today!

Humble Bee Bakery

I’ve been a busy bee at my hive! Testing, perfecting, then testing some more in preparation of my big debut today. This week my cupcake offerings include: The Campfire S’mores – chocolate cake stuffed with mini marshmallows, sprinkled with graham crackers crumbs then topped off with a classic american buttercream swirl. But that’s not all! There’s more graham cracker crumbs and milk chocolate drizzle complete with roasted mini marshmallows…The best part of camping in my personal opinion!  The Hap-bee Birthday – vanilla cake dressed up for the occasion with a classic american buttercream swirl. Confetti sprinkles adorn the top; making any day feel like it’s your birthday! There’s a cute little curl of ribbon that is just for fun; please remove before indulging!  Cinnamon Swirl Bread – moist sweet bread with cinnamon swirling throughout and topped with a cinnamon sugar mixture giving it a nice crust. Warm it up and add a pat of butter and you’ve got a cozy little winter treat! Loaves are perfect for sharing (or not)! Samples and more samples; for the entire month of March I will be having samples of all items available at my booth each Thursday. Come early and get them while you can! Also taking custom orders for any occasion. I’d be delighted to chat with you and discuss making your special day even sweeter. Keene Creek Farm

This is the last week to pre-order Easter hams from our farm. If you’re interested in getting one, please contact us and we will arrange to deliver it to Local Bounty for you to pick up before the Easter holiday. We restocked our freezer yesterday with more Canadian bacon, bratwurst patties (they’d be so, so good on a gluten-free bun from Flying Pig Farm), and Cajun sausage. Our Texas Longhorn Beef is almost ready to offer – it is finishing hanging and should be ready to pick up soon. We will let you know as soon as it’s available at the market. Lastly, for those of you who treat yourselves to our Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Fudge, we made some up this week. This time around, we topped it off with cashews. Rowdi thinks it just might be the best batch yet. Thanks for your continuous support.

Mullet Apiaries

Dear customers, we value each and every one of you. We have tried to make our honey available and affordable for everyone. Unfortunately, many of our costs have risen over the last three years and several of our items are selling only at cost or a loss. (Beekeeper says that after surviving this cold winter the “girls” may even want a raise.) So we will be raising our prices beginning March 1st. I think you will find that the price increase is small, but will make a big difference for us in being able to continue to supply all of you with golden, delicious honey. Thank you for understanding and we hope we can continue to serve you. As always, we thank you for your patronage.

Wholesome Valley

Whole milk, butter, heavy whipping cream.  Some describe this butter as the best they have ever eaten, give it a try!
