Local Bounty update

| March 12, 2015

Good morning,

It is true……can it be?  It is almost here!  SPRING!  We are gearing up and can’t wait to grow stuff for you!  Come check us out today and tomorrow 10-6, Sat. 9-1.

Vendor Updates:

Flying Pig Farm
Stop in and see us on Friday from 10-2. We just might have some yummy samples! We have gluten-free bread and buns in the cooler. We also have gluten-free and regular wheat croutons seasoned with garlic and herbs in our booth. They make a wonderful addition to salads and soups! Why not try your favorite jam on some Wheat or Cinnamon Bread? Our Garlic Herb makes a delicious grilled cheese too! You can order any of our baked goods by signing the sheet in our booth or messaging us on www.Facebook.com/OhioFlyingPigFarm. We’re ready to plant our heirloom vegetable seeds. Look for our produce list next week!

Hillbippie

I have two new tea blends!  The first is a Spring Tonic, good for shaking off those winter blues and preparing for the spring ahead.  The second is Mellow Morning, Green tea and Chamomile come together to create something magical in this tea. Green tea is a perfect balance between go and mellow, it is rich in nutrients and has a pleasant taste.  When combined with Chamomile something spectacular happens! You can make approx. 15 cups of tea from my .5oz bags of loose leaf tea, and for the price, it is hard to beat!  I will also have Focaccia and French Boule today and tomorrow.  Thank you for all your support!

Humble Bee Bakery

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner! Treat yourself with one of my festive cupcakes. Singles and 4 packs will be available for sale.  The Minty Patrick – Chocolate cake infused with a hint of mint. Topped with green swiss meringue buttercream. Then sprinkled with cake crumbs and adorned with an Andes Mint candy. Mint and chocolate are always a winning combination!  The Happy Patty – Chocolate cake with green swiss meringue buttercream swirled on top. Dressed up with green sprinkles and a lucky gold coin!  Cinnamon Swirl Bread was SO popular last week it’s back again! I’ve also added Chocolate Chip Bread to the menu.  You will find full size loaves of each for sale. Samples! As promised there will be more samples this week of both sweet breads and the cupcakes.  THANK YOU for a successful week last week and all of your support! May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks, May your heart be as light as a song, May each day bring you bright, Happy hours that stay with you all the yearlong. ~Irish Blessing

Keene Creek Farm

Well, the big thaw has finally come – and we’re so very excited. Our hoop house is begging for us to plant something in it – lettuce, kale and spinach will be planted sooner than later. We finally got our Texas Longhorn beef back from the butcher and it will be available at Local Bounty today. Please know that it will only be available while the supply lasts – or at least until we can secure more ground so we can better accommodate both cattle and hogs. The only cut that we have is bulk ground beef – and it definitely lives up to the Longhorn’s reputation for producing extremely lean meat. It is flavorful though. Our pork supply has been restocked too. We usually deliver one to two coolers full of meat from our warehousing freezers at the farm to Local Bounty each week. Crazy, huh? Thanks for supporting us and all other local food producers. Much appreciated.

Windy Hill Farm

Our Rhubarb-Pecan Bread will arrive Friday morning.

Thank you as always,
