Babcock PictureCOSHOCTON – Lois Marie (Edie) Babcock passed away peacefully in Coshocton on the morning of June 27, 2017 with her children by her side. Lois was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, always putting others before herself.  Family members and friends would describe her as “the family rock” and “a forthright woman who never left you wondering what she thought.”  Her children, family, and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life.

Lois’ passions were NBA basketball and motorcycle riding.  She also enjoyed gardening, home decorating, and she thrived on spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and many friends.

Lois was born in Coshocton, Ohio on April 7, 1940 to the late Betty (Reigle) and John Edie.  She spent her career in healthcare and was retired from the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital and from home health care. Lois helped many of Coshocton’s residents with their own loved ones in their time of need.  She had a special gift that many will never forget.

Lois is survived by her three brothers, Jack Edie, Ray (Jodi) Edie, and Bob Edie; four children, Kim (Steve) DeLawder, Laurie Adams, Jackie Kohman, and Mark (Patty) Babcock; eight grandchildren, Jason Lovejoy, Kristy (Brock) Rodeniser, Michael (Mindy) Kohman, Jessica Babcock, Kasey O’Brien, Trevor Williams, Michelle (Tony) Brillhart, and Morgan Kohman; 15 great grandchildren, Lindsey, Jordan, Emilie, Justice, Logan, Madyson, Makinsey, Gabe, Calvin, Triniti, Jaeli, Kylee, Gavin, Baylee, and Zayne; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and her mother’s last living sibling, Pat Wright.

Her family is very grateful for the immense support and visitors during her short illness, including many of her former coworkers that were very dear to her.

The family will be holding a private service in her memory and will be taking her on one final ride here on earth.

Memorial contributions can be directed toward Community Hospice of Coshocton, 230 S. 4th Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.  The Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton is serving the family. An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com.
