Macmillan Publishers limits libraries’ ability to provide eBooks

| March 11, 2020

Macmillan Publishers recently passed an eBook embargo for libraries, restricting all public libraries to purchase only one copy of each new eBook title for the first two months after the book’s release. This embargo limits libraries’ ability to provide access to information for all. It particularly harms library patrons with disabilities or learning issues. In some instances, this embargo will force readers to wait a year or more to borrow an eBook.

The American Library Association, the Coshocton Public Library, and libraries across the country ask you to oppose Macmillan’s embargo by signing the #eBooksForAll campaign petition. Visit ebooksforall.org to sign the petition and ensure access to information and content for all.
