Mary Margaret Watkins

Mary Margaret Watkins, 92, of Coshocton, Ohio passed away at Signature Healthcare of Coshocton on July 4, 2021. She was born in West Lafayette, Ohio on November 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Johnson) Carr. On December 4, 1947, she married Dennis E. Watkins, who preceded her in death on June 7, 1989.

Mary retired from Shaw Barton Advertising Company of Coshocton, Mail Room Department, after working there many years. She enjoyed traveling for sight-seeing vacations, for shopping, and for visiting family. She was an avid reader and delighted in decorating her home for every holiday and season. Mary was a loving wife, sister, aunt, great aunt, and great great aunt. She loved spending time with family and friends.

Mary is survived by three nieces, Lori (Andy) Deshong of Pittsburgh, PA, Linda “Lynn” (Brett) Thompson, of Charlotte, NC, and Patty Garbrandt of Zanesville, OH, and one nephew, Robert “Bob” (Leslie) Caton Jr. of Naples, FL; nine great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary is preceded in death by one sister, Edna Caton; two brothers, Ralph Carr, and Frank Carr; two half-brothers, Eugene Strode and Thomas W. Carr; and two half-sisters, Louella Pearl Carr and Lilie Russell Carr; and one nephew, Roger Caton.

A graveside memorial service will be held at South Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Mary.
