Missing man’s body located

CONESVILLE – On January 21st, 2020, the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the possible disappearance of a local man.  Information about Gilbert Dale Walton, a 50 year old man from the Coshocton area, and the possibility of foul play in relation to the disappearance began to trickle in to investigators.

On January 23rd at 4:42 pm, Detectives executed a search warrant on a residence in the 200 block of Biggs Ave in Conesville in reference to this investigation.  Two adult females and one adult male were initially taken into custody. Also secured at this residence were several evidentiary items including a motor vehicle.

On January 24th at 11:18 pm, Detectives were able to locate the body of Gilbert Dale Walton near Sr 93, just into Muskingum County.  Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office along with the Muskingum County Coroner’s Office assisted our investigators at the scene.

On January 25th, a warrant for Aggravated Murder, an Unclassified Felony was issued for Kevin Lee Walters, a 50 year old male from the Coshocton area.  Soon after the release of the warrant, Walters was apprehended by Barberton Police Department and transported to the Coshocton County Justice Center where he remains today.

On January 27th, Candy K. Petrekovich, 49 years old and from the Barberton area, was charged with Aggravated Murder, an Unclassified Felony and William “Billy” Watson, 47 years old and from the Coshocton area, was charged with Obstructing Justice, a Felony of the 3rd degree.

Assisting the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office with this investigation are the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office, Muskingum County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Office, Dellroy Fire K-9, Barberton Police Department, BCI&I and Prince’s Wrecker.
