Ohio State Newark’s annual report wins national recognition

NEWARK -The Ohio State University at Newark Marketing and Public Relations (MPR) office received a Merit Award in the Annual Report category for the Ohio State Newark Progress Report, “Forging One Ohio State.” Winners were recently announced in the 28th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, sponsored by Higher Education Marketing Report. 

It was 28 years ago that this national competition began its efforts to recognize the field of educational marketing and advertising. Today, the industry has matured into a sophisticated and competitive field, meeting the needs of knowledgeable prospects that are making their own educational decisions.

The Educational Advertising Awards is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country. This year, close to 3,000 entries were received from more than one-thousand colleges, universities and secondary schools from all fifty states and several foreign countries.

The annual progress report, designed by Leslie Lenzo McLaughlin, senior graphic designer, highlights the innovative and engaging activities and projects of Ohio State Newark over the past year.

“This award exemplifies the commitment to quality that this department continually strives to achieve,” said Alice Hutzel-Bateson, marketing and public relations director. “I’m so proud to be part of dedicated team of professionals.”

Judges for the Educational Advertising Awards consisted of national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of Higher Education Marketing Report.
