Ona G. Jones

Ona G. Jones, 80, of Zanesville, formally of Coshocton, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. She was born on May 17, 1940 in West Virginia to the late Lucian and Ota (Williamson) Smith.

Ona worked for Novelty Advertising for many years. She was a faithful woman who lived by the word of the Lord and was a former member of Burt Ave. Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed making crafts, painting, working with flowers and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.

Ona is survived by her three children, Rodney (Roberta) Jones of Dresden, OH, Greg (Denise) Jones of Nashport, OH and Kelly (Joe) Deperno of Stroudsburg, PA; five grandchildren, Steven Rensi, Heather Jones Stafford, Caitlin Jones, Kelsey Jones and Joey Deperno; five great-grandchildren, Katie Stafford, Abbey Stafford, Adalynn Stafford, Jeremiah Stafford and Graceyn Bauer; two half-sisters, Rachel (Bud) Lefebure of Bridgeville, FL and Linda Dean of Sebring, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Ona is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. Jones who passed away in 1979; brothers, Bill and Leo “Bud” Smith and sister, Mary Ruth Eaches; mother-in-law, Esther L. Bice and brother-in-law, James Jones.

Per Ona’s wishes, a cremation will take place with private graveside services being held at a later date. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
