Precision Truck Solutions purchases Mason Truck Sales

| March 6, 2019

FRESNO – In five years Bruce Childress outgrew his space at Precision Truck Solutions Inc. on Country Road 621.

In order to better serve his clients, Childress purchased Mason Truck Sales on State Route 36 and relocated his business there.

“We are going to be way more efficient,” he said. “At the other garage we’d have trucks torn apart waiting for parts and couldn’t do anything else. Here we have twice the floor space and twice the parts space. We will be able to get vehicles in and out. By combining the two businesses we can offer better prices on parts too.”

Childress said at the previous location they had four, 50 foot long bays, but only one was a drive-thru. Now they have four bays to work in and each of them is a drive-thru. Two are 80 feet long and two are 100 feet long.

“We will be able to get vehicles in and out because we have the space and a way to do it now,” he said.

Precision Truck Solutions Inc. works on light and heavy duty vehicles, does alignments, and makes hydraulic and air conditioning hoses, and battery cables.

“I’d say 75 to 80 percent of the work we do is on heavy duty vehicles,” Childress said. “A lot of our customers are from here, but we also have customers from Tuscarawas and Holmes counties.”

The parts side of the business services Ohio and West Virginia.

Employees from both Precision and Mason were retained.

“It’s been a smooth transition,” Childress said. “Mason had a good parts sales business and customers are seeing the same faces.”

Childress was a truck driver for 35 years and bought Precision in 2014 after retiring.

“I was on the road for a lot of years and miles,” he said. “I didn’t want to be on the go, but still wanted to be around trucking. I get to see a lot of familiar faces that I’ve known for years, but haven’t seen in a long time.”

Precision Truck Solutions Inc. is now located at 51000 State Route 36 and is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Childress can be reached at 740-622-8346. He hopes to someday turn the business over to his sons.
