R. Joan Hagans

Rebecca Joan Hagans, 86, of Walhonding died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020 at Altercare in Coshocton.

She was born Nov. 30, 1934 in Coshocton to the late Alphis G. and Hattie L. (Bickel) Vansickel.

She was a homemaker and a cook at Peggy Sue’s Restaurant in New Castle.

She is survived by her husband, Edward L. Hagans, whom she married Jan. 31, 1959. Also surviving is a son and  two daughters, David Hagans of Walhonding,  Jonalee (David) Bordenkircher of Howard and Mary (Ritchie) Frazee of Mount Vernon. Four grandchildren, Christy (Seth) Dickerson, Cameron Bordenkircher, Courtney Hagans, and Connor Frazee. Two sisters, Grace (Richard) Rinner of Chicago, IL and Ada (Lawrence) Leaman of Warsaw. Many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Hagans. Her sisters, Doris (Raymond) Ashcraft, Alice (William) Willis, Mary (Jack) Farmer, & Susie (Dwight) Shoults. Her brothers, Martin E. Vansickel, Stanley A. Vansickel, & Jack (Thelma) Vansickel.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the Coshocton County Memory Gardens with Mike Mosholder officiating.
