The Coshocton  Chamber of Commerce invited everyone to come out and support the new Coshocton Recovery LLC with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of their new drug rehab facility. This is a substance abuse rehab clinic that provides treatment to people with drug addiction and other substance abuse problems. They offer individual counseling, group counseling and case management services. Located at 537 Main St., this is a brand new outpatient service.

Owner and Clinical Executive Director Bobbi Milbrandt, MA, LICDC is an addiction and substance abuse counselor. This project is close to her heart having lost a sister to a drug overdose in 2007 she raised her sister’s sons from the age of 3.

“Hopefully we can all work together. We are all part of a circle. We do what we can do a little at a time. ”

Mayor Mark Mills welcomed the business to Coshocton

“Thank you for helping people,” he said. “There is a demand for your services to solve some issues. Good employees build a strong economy, it’s incredible. We appreciate everyone for coming out to support this. Thanks for the help.”

Milbrandt and counselors Barb Weber and Autumn Conklin have all dealt with addictions in their families. They use intensive outpatient counseling to help clients learn what they will need to have a productive life by showing clients how to reach their goals. Providing help with filling out job applications and applications for Medicaid or rides to appointments and jobs are just a few of the services they provide.

“We will help them with anything they need. The main thing is recovery – get them on a stress free path. Some don’t know how to live sober lives. We want to give them a good start. Having group sessions for peer support reflects the power of peer pressure in a positive way. When people know their sober friends in recovery are watching and encouraging – it inspires sobriety. We use the 12 step anger management program – bad relationships, co-dependency. Anything that will help them better their lives,” Weber said.

Conklin added that they focus on the addiction and the resources that are needed.

“This is a brain disease and not a moral failing,” she said. “The less stress they have, the better they do.”

Coshocton Recovery plans to have a house for women in the spring. The Port Authority is helping with funding for residential housing.
