Richard Thomas Turner

COSHOCTON – Richard Thomas Turner, age 89, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at his home. He was born on December 21, 1928 in Coshocton, to the late Raymond and Marjorie (Lear) Turner. He was a 1946 graduate of Coshocton High School and a 1951 graduate of University of Denver. He was a United States Navy Veteran having served from 1946 – 1948 then joining the Navy Reserve from 1949 – 1956. He retired as an executive officer in Government of Orange County, California. He was also a past secretary of the Coshocton Elk’s Lodge #376.  On March 20, 1951, he married Shirley F. Turner who passed away on January 11, 2014.

He is survived by his daughter, Janet (Mark) Ellert of Vernon, Connecticut; sister, Nancy Shook of Rochester Hills, Michigan as well as several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, preceding him in death are his siblings, William Turner, Harold Turner, Marian Matchett.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm. The Coshocton Elk’s Lodge will begin a service at 6:45pm. Burial will take place at South Lawn Cemetery following a cremation.
