Ridgewood holds on for 2-1 win over Edison

RICHMOND – In girls soccer, Ridgewood built a 2-0 halftime lead and held on for a 2-1 win over Edison.

Kalynn Bluck scored her 13th goal of the season in the opening minute to give Ridgewood (7-2-2) the early lead. Anna Powell made it 2-0 bending in a corner kick with the help of the wind with 6:06 before halftime.

Edison mounted a comeback with the wind at their backs in the second half. Megan Brooks cut the lead to 2-1 with a goal at 30:50 to play. The Ridgewood defense regrouped in the final 30 minutes to preserve the win.

Edison held a 8-6 advantage in shots. Sam Moore gathered five saves for the Orange and Black. Jen Sheets finished with three for the Lady Wildcats.

Ridgewood won the JV game 1-0 with Lori Hart scoring for the Lady Generals.

Ridgewood hosts Amanda Clearcreek on Monday at 6 p.m.
