Robert  C. ‘Bob’ Dalzell

Robert  C. “Bob” Dalzell, 73, of Conesville, Ohio walked through the gates of Heaven to join his Savior and his loved ones Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Genesis Hospital following a short illness.

Born January 28, 1949 in Zanesville he was a son of the late Robert W. and Benita M. (Ellis) Dalzell. Bob was a 1968 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and worked at General Electric until he retired in 2004.  He proudly served his country from 1968-1970 in the 196th Light Infantry Brigade America Division spending twelve months fighting in Vietnam.

Bob loved his Lord, family, church, and country. He was a member of Coshocton Church of the Nazarene where he served as Greeter, Usher, and prep cook for the Men’s Prayer Breakfast.  He was also on the Coshocton County Veterans Council, the Northside Church of the Nazarene Men’s Prayer Breakfast and served as President of the Coshocton County Vietnam Veterans. Bob loved to hunt, fish, camp, ride motorcycles, go to races, watch Tri-Valley and Riverview football and in his younger days, he enjoyed trapping.  He liked when children thought he was Santa, he would ask if they had been good and give them a candy cane. Bob’s life and love impacted many people for the Lord.

Surviving is his loving wife, Cindy J. (Wickham) Dalzell whom he married November 29, 1975; two children, a daughter, Tiffany Dalzell-Mahon and a son, David Dalzell, both of Conesville; a granddaughter, Madeline Mahon of Conesville, whom he considered more of a daughter; two brothers, Lee (Cathy) Dalzell of Utica and Glenn Dalzell of Frazeysburg; honorary daughters, Katrin Knesch of Germany and Tara Gracyk of Fresno, Ohio; honorary grandchildren, Lulu and Rory Butler and Kayden Hixon; sister in-law, Janet (Cuddy) Ritchason of Bakersfield, CA; brothers in-law, Jim (Cheral) Wickham of Arlington WA and Joe (Christine) Wickham of Zanesville; aunt, Ethel Burnett of Zanesville; special friend, Karen Porter; fur babies, Amelia, Elliot, and Bailey; friends of Conesville, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Dalzell; parents in-law, Joe Wickham and Cecelia (George) Holland; grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Friends and family called 2pm to 4pm Sunday, January 29, 2023 and 12:00 Noon to 1:00pm Monday January 30, 2023 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services were held at 1:00pm Monday, January 30, 2023 at the funeral home with Pastor Andrew Bird and Pastor James Miller officiating.

Burial followed in the Adams Mills Cemetery.  Coshocton County Vietnam Veterans will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
