Robert Lewis Lawrence
Robert Lewis Lawrence, age 75, of Newcomerstown, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025. He was born on June 21, 1949, to the late John Lawrence and Virginia (Eaton) Bates.
Robert attended Ridgewood High School and worked for Pontiac Motors, upholstered vehicles and he worked for Kurz-Kash Inc. in Newcomerstown before retiring. He was a lover of cats, music and fishing; he also enjoyed entering the Publishers Clearing House weekly for many years. Robert was a stubborn, hard-head man, but enjoyed helping his neighbors and family with anything they needed. He had a wonderful, loving heart and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Robert Lawrence of Newcomerstown, grandchildren, Stephany, Robert Cole and Alexander, several great-grandchildren; sister Debra (Brent) Perkins of Newcomerstown, and nephews and niece, Beau Walker, Ian Perkins, Ethan Perkins and Amanda Kaufman.
Robert is preceded in death by his father and mother, his step-father, Larry Bates, his sister Pamela Walker and nephew, Dakota Walker.
Per Robert’s wishes, a cremation will take place with a Celebration of Life being held at a later date. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert’s name to any non-profit/not-kill cat rescue center.
