Ruth Ellen Louise Wolford McKee

ZANESVILLE – Ruth Ellen Louise Wolford McKee, 103 died peacefully in her sleep Friday morning, July 7, 2017 at Zanesville Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born March 2, 1914 in Pike Twp, Coshocton County she was the sixth of seven children born to the late Lyndon Jay and Florida Norman Wolford. Mrs. McKee was raised on a farm near Hanover but lived most of her life in Muskingum and Coshocton Counties. She was a 1933 graduate of Hanover-Toboso High School. She was a homemaker, farmer and later retired from Ohio Plastic in Frazeysburg. She enjoyed attending Dresden Senior Center, visiting with friends and family. She lived in her apartment in Frazeysburg until September of 2016 when her failing eyesight led to her decision to move to Zanesville.

Mrs. McKee was a member of Meadowview Church of Christ.

Survivors include her son, H. Dwayne (Diana) McKee of Newark; a daughter, Phyllis (Donald) Lee of Cooperdale; son in-law, Richard (Nora) Fry of Conesville; six grandchildren, Monte (Jennifer) Fry, D. Curtis (Toni) Lee, all of Cooperdale, Dina (Jim) Hodnichak of Marysville, Joni (Glen) Reichenbach of Massillon, Tara (Martin) Woods of Plain City and Tasha McKee of Marne; fifteen great grandchildren, Josh (Jackie), Adam and Nathan Hodnichak, Acen Wickham and Zachary Snyder, Heath and Hunter Reichenbach, Logan and Riley Woods, Zared Lee, Ashley (Tim) Hunt, Autumn (Mike) Hadley, Aubrey (Tony) Ripple, Shannon (Chris) Borby and Amanda (Justin) Blythe; nine great-great grandchildren, Jacob and Matthew Gorby, Lydia and Ellia Ripple, Mackenzie, Myah, Morgan and Maverick Hadley and Adaline Hunt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon D. McKee, whom she married December 7, 1935 and who died March 20, 1987; a daughter, Joyce (Richard) Fry, November 4, 2000; and six siblings, Nellie Irons, Mary Lewis, Laura Jones Giffen, Harry, Frank and Larry Jackson Wolford.

Calling hours are 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2017 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 Third Street, Frazeysburg.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
