Sacred Heart announces Parish Festival

| July 1, 2015

COSHOCTON – The Sacred Heart Community Parish Festival will be Saturday, July 18 from 5 – 9 p.m. at their location at 805 Main Street in Coshocton. Sacred Heart Parish is sponsoring this community event for all residents and will feature something for everyone.

From 5 – 7 p.m., Baker’s will be serving their half chicken dinners with potato salad, baked beans, rolls, pie, cake, or brownies. The nostalgia band, Rendezvous will perform from 5 – 8 p.m. There will also be popcorn, sno cones, face painting, arts and crafts, and games with prizes for the kids and a silent auction, bake sale, arts and crafts, and raffle prizes for adults to browse.

The event will be held rain or shine with many shading tents erected on the grounds. For those of age, cold beer will also be available to enjoy.

This community event is being held to help cover parish and school expenses. The last parish festival was in the early 1980s and Kathy Bauman is leading the parish in reestablishing this major outdoor community event on the lawn behind Sacred Heart Church. The previous two summers, Sacred Heart fed and entertained people with their Beer, Brats, and Band fundraiser, which was well-received by the community, and is now being expanded at the festival. Two local artists will be providing paintings for the festival and interviews of the artists will be featured in the Coshocton County Beacon.

Sacred Heart Parish wishes to offer heart-felt gratitude to those local businesses and service providers for their donations: Dean’s Jewelers, House of G.A. Fisher, Triplitt’s Pharmacy and Gifts, The Front Porch, Covic Connection, Hickory Flats Golf Course, River Greens Golf Course, Dr. Charles Fornara, Dr. David Erwin, Dr. Brian Dunlap and Dr. Patrick Laaper, Coshocton Village Inn and Suites, Annin Flagmakers, The Frame Shop, Esther Versch, Wilson Carpet and Furniture, Medbery Marketplace, Unusual Junction, Jerry McKenna, The Gift Depot, WalMart, Jim Holehouse, Mary Waibel, Jillian’s Salon, A Touch of Class Salon, Bakers IGA Coshocton, Jim Karas Auto Detailing, Star Brite Lube Center, Papa John’s Pizza, Coshocton Yard, and Pearl Valley Cheese.
