| August 25, 2015

CONESVILLE – Sheldon Mencer will be in concert during the 11 a.m. worship service at Conesville United Methodist Church, located at 196 State Street in Conesville, on Sunday, Sept. 6. Mencer sings and plays piano, bass, and guitar. He travels extensively ministering through song. He has written more than 300 songs including Only God Knows (Gold City, Brian Free and Assurance), Lead Me To The Rock (Janet Paschal-Bill Gaither’s Homecoming Series), Sweet Peace (The Kingsmen and The Nelons), Mercy River (The Singing Americans), and Quiet Time (Mencer, White & Cheney). Other artists to record his songs include Walt Mills, Vern Jackson, The Kingdom Heirs, Karen Peck and New River, The LeBeau’s and many others.

In 2008, Mencer and his wife Tammy founded Mission 3:16 whose purpose is to provide a refuge for the underprivileged, while meeting their physical, social, spiritual, and educational needs. This may be accomplished through the written or spoken word and music and may also include other activities that will further the vision of Mission 3:16. Mission 3:16 is currently building a children’s home in Nigeria while supporting a local native pastor. Mission 3:16 currently supports 28 children at Perausad International Christian School.

The public is invited to this special service and encouraged to bring a friend. Mercer is well known in the Coshocton County area and beyond.

A free-will offering will be taken to support Mercer’s ministry.
