Special Olympics athletes to host fundraiser at Hopewell School

| October 7, 2020

The Coshocton County Special Olympic athletes will be having a food truck and vendor/craft show fundraiser on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17-18 at Hopewell School on Airport Road near Wal-Mart.

“We have 20 vendors signed up and more that say they are coming,” said Toby Collins, Director of Recreation and Special Olympics for the Coshocton County Board of DD. “Our athlete leaders wanted to try a different kind of fundraiser this year and this is a safe way to do it.”

So far, two food trucks have confirmed. Backwoods Smokehouse and She’s Snack Shack will be at the event and there is a wide variety of vendors setting up, including crafts and items like Scentsy.

The food trucks will be available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days and the vendors will be set up from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

“The money we make will be used for tournaments and equipment for our athletes,” said Collins. “We are asking everyone to practice social distancing while at the fundraiser to keep everyone safe.”
