Taste for Summer Wine and BBQ Fest this weekend
COSHOCTON – The Clary Gardens Taste for Summer Wine & BBQ Fest on May 18 has a full course of food, wine tastings, live music, BBQ vendors, garden tours, and arts and crafts booths. The event takes place from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Clary Gardens, 588 W. Chestnut St. (State Route 541) in Coshocton.
The Taste for Summer is a fundraiser for garden projects at Clary Gardens, specifically towards the developing children’s garden. Tickets for the Taste For Summer event are $5 for admission. Wine tasting tickets are an additional $10 for 10 wine tastings (which includes a complimentary wine glass), and the beer tastings are $5 for six beer tastings. Parking is free.
Wineries attending the event include: Troutman Vineyards, Shawnee Springs Winery, Swiss Heritage Winery, Raven’s Glenn Winery, Yellow Butterfly Winery, Buckeye Winery, Emerine Estates Winery, The Winery at Wolf Creek, and Black Sheep Vineyard. Breweries include: Marietta Brewing Company and Weasel Boy Brewing Company from Zanesville, Ohio.
Additional related activities with Taste for Summer are the Nine & Wine Taste for Summer Golf Event at River Greens Golf Course, 22749 State Route 751, West Lafayette. On Saturday, May 18 from 8 – 10 a.m., enjoy nine holes of golf with wine tastings at each of the nine holes. Cost is $25 per person. For details and reservations, call 545-7817.
Visitors to the Taste for Summer event can also take an Aerial Tour of Coshocton’s Three Rivers Wine Trail which features five wineries. Take a 30-minute plane ride over Coshocton’s lush farmland and beautiful vineyards. Flights on May 18 are available throughout the day. Cost is $50 per person or $75 per couple. Reservations are requested by calling the Richard Downing Airport at 622-2252. The airport is located at 24569 Airport Road, Coshocton.
The Taste for Summer Wine & BBQ Fest will have free shuttles available to and from the event location of Clary Gardens to River Greens Golf Course, Richard Downing Airport, and to Historic Roscoe Village.
