Unique job training opportunity offered

| June 1, 2018

COSHOCTON – An open house was held on May 30 at the Coshocton Campus of COTC to introduce the community to a new educational opportunity known as Advancing Coshocton through Technical Training (A.C.t.T.T.). The grant-funded initiative offers free training to individuals with a mechanical mindset and technical abilities. Most of the classes will be offered at the Coshocton Campus of COTC over four semesters. Individuals who enroll in the program will learn the technical skills they need to secure a position and focus on teamwork, staying safe on the job and how to keep their job once they land it. They also will be connected to employers in need of the positions they are being trained for. “When you are done you will be a skilled industrial technician and hopefully there will be little bidding wars over who gets to hire you,” said Vicki Maple, COTC vice president for workforce development, community affairs and extended campuses. Classes start the week of June 18. For more information, contact Maple at [email protected] or 740-364-9565.

About the Author ()

I started my journalism career in 2002 with a daily newspaper chain. After various stops with them, I am happy to be back home! I graduated from Coshocton High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2002 from Walsh University. I also earned several awards while working for daily papers, including being honored by Coshocton County’s veterans for the stories I wrote about them. I am honored and ready to once again shine a positive light on Coshocton County. I also am the proud mother of a little girl named Sophia!
