United Way recognizes top givers

| February 28, 2022

Every year the United Way of Coshocton holds its annual meeting to publicly recognize and thank not only individuals who have donated but local businesses which earned awards for their contribution to the campaign. Because of the pandemic, this year’s celebration had to be cancelled for the second year.

The goal for the 2021-2022 campaign was $300,000. To date the United Way has received $235,672 in donations/pledges which is 78% of the goal. Donations will be able to be attributed to this campaign until it is allocated out in the spring of 2023, so there is still hope of making the goal.

For the second year in a row, the top giver award this year goes to McWane Ductile having collected $40,100 through employee and corporate contributions. Over the past 15 years, McWane employees and corporate donations have totaled over half a million dollars. All staying in Coshocton County.

There were two local businesses earning the president’s award having pledged $10,000 or more and those were Coshocton Regional Medical Center and Cleveland Cliffs.

The 2022-2023 campaign will be kicking off in the fall of this year and the corporate sponsor is Genesis Healthcare. “In light of the pandemic, how wonderful to see another healthcare provider step up and support Coshocton in such a generous way. We are not only grateful to Genesis for the care they will be providing us through their new medical center but also for their support of local non-profit programming,” said Lyn Mizer, director. Corporate sponsor dollars are put toward campaign expenses so that more donations go directly to programming.

The awards breakfast is an opportunity to look at the past campaign and year. The 2021 annual report can be found at the United Way website: www.coshoctonunitedway.org.
