A little more than 32% of registered voters turned out for the Nov. 2 election and voted on a variety of races and levies.

In the City of Coshocton voters selected a new school board member Susan L. Mann. She and Jere W. Butcher won out over H. Tad Johnson, who has served on the board with Butcher for many years.

Voters in the River View Local School District had seven candidates to choose from for two open positions. Mindy Duncan and Charlie Wright were selected to join the board and longtime member Cordell Brown was voted off.

The proposed sales tax to help build the new justice center was supported with 4,067 yes votes compared to 3,200 no votes. According to the Coshocton County Justice Center Facebook page, the total cost of the project is $28 million. Four million dollars was raised by the sale of county land and Coshocton received a $10.1 million dollar grant from the state. The grant will shorten the time the sales tax will be needed to fund the new facility.

In the city, the three current city council at large members retained their seats. Voters once again chose to have Thomas A. Barcroft, Glenn Mishler and Michelle Turner Ganz represent them.
