13 authors planning to attend annual book fair

Coshocton’s Write-On Writers Guild is sponsoring its second annual book fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Frontier Power Community Room, 770 S. Second St. in Coshocton.

There are presently 13 authors who are planning to bring their new books to sell. This makes a wonderful opportunity for selecting from a wide variety of books as gifts for Christmas, birthdays, and for yourself.

The following is brief information about some of the authors who are coming to Coshocton on Oct. 15. For a complete listing of authors, their pictures, a brief description of their books, with front-cover pictures and prices; go to the Facebook page titled “Coshocton Write-On Writers.”

Kathleen Martin from New Philadelphia will be bringing two books she has written in the category of Christian Romance, “The Sea Stone Collection,” which is set in the small seaside town of Cutter’s Cove, Maine, and “Called Back, A Tale of Two Worlds.”

Beverly Wencek Kerr from Byesville, who does historical writing, will be selling her “Life in the Mississippi Marine Brigade, an 1863 Civil War Diary of George Painter.” She will also be selling books of short stories, written by members of the Rainy Day Writers of Cambridge.

Chrissy Hartmann from Wooster will be selling her debut novel called “Rescuing Whiskey’s Salvation,” which is in the category of Western Romances. Coming soon will be her novella, “Cherishing Whiskey’s Salvation.” She will have a poster about this book and will take pre-orders for it.

Betty A. Rodgers-Kulich from Orient, Ohio, will be selling her Christian fiction/contemporary, allegory book called “The River: A Spiritually Transforming Journey.”

Cindy Thomson is from Pataskala. Her type of writing is adult historical fiction and non-fiction. The title of her first book is “Brigid of Ireland, A Historical Novel.” Her second book is titled “Pages of Ireland, Daughters of Ireland #2.” Her third book is titled “Enya’s Son.” Her fourth book is titled “The Roots of Irish Wisdom, Learning from Ancient Voices.” “Celtic Song, From the Traditions of Ireland, Scotland, England, and Wales” is the title of her fifth book. Her sixth book is titled “Finding Your Irish Roots, First Steps to Tracing Your Irish Line.” Thomson’s seventh book is titled “Celtic Wanderings, A 40-Day Devotional.”

Dominic Gangale is from New Philadelphia. His type of writing is romance. “Love Me Silently” is the title of his first book. His second book is titled “The Greater the Love, The Deeper the Grieving.”

Stephen R. Cook is from Wooster. His type of writing is memoir, fiction, and non-fiction. The title of his first book is “Lawyer, I Love You! (Law School at 48. My mid-life adventure from law student to professor.” His second book is titled “Romancing the Haymow, Affairs of the Heart, Hearth and Harvest.” His third book is titled “TACTA 1.” His fourth book is titled “Hobby.”

Wesley McCloud is coming from Newark. His type of writing is fiction, typically horror/supernatural-driven themes. The titles of his six books are: “Kentucky Moon,” “Catahoula,” “Kamakazo,” “Gemini,” “The Gingerbread Girl,” and “Cleaver.”

Adrian Schaar will be coming from Dover. He has written a memoir called “David of Muskrat Bottom.” What appears to be a feel-good story of a little boy at play, quickly evolves from his boyhood through military service in the Vietnam War and the delayed aftermath. This book provides a path to dealing with PTSD, as well as life.

Michelle Gehrt is a Christian non-fiction writer from Columbus. Her first book is a 52-week Old Testament Devotional called “Behold, God is Speaking to Us.” Her second book is a type of “How to” book, called “Ancient Paths.” It tells how to return back to the ancient ways that God has intended for us.

Kathleen Fernandez, from North Canton, has written two books in the historical field, both about Zoar Village where she worked for 29 years before retiring in 2004. One is titled “A Singular People: Images of Zoar.” Her second book is titled “Zoar: The Story of an Intentional Community.”

Michael Kanuckel of Killbuck also is among the authors coming to the book fair.

Members of Coshocton’s Write-On Writers Guild who will be selling books are Cristie Merce, chair of the book fair, who has written “The Woes and Wisdom of Eldercare, an Educational Learning Guide.”

Glenn Kinkade will be selling three books he has written: “Coshocton County, Ohio Plat Maps,” “Coshocton County, Ohio Infirmary – History and Records,” and “Orchestras and Bands of Coshocton County, Ohio.”

The club will be selling Sharon Mooney’s book of poetry after the Art of Vincent van Gogh, titled “Bending Toward Heaven.” It has excerpts of letters to his brother Theo, connected with each poem.

Sally Kinkade will be selling a book written by Maine author Barbara Walsh. “The Goose Lady” is a children’s story about her mother who had a cement goose from Coshocton and dressed it daily for over 20 years.

At the registration table, the Write-On Writers Guild will be offering its 20th Anniversary Chapbook for a suggested donation of $5. It contains a collection of essays, short stories and poetry, written by guild members, inspired by three different pictures.

There will be a freebies table, as well as a raffle basket table where tickets are $1 for one, or six for $5, for a choice of two baskets.
