Local Bounty update

| November 27, 2013

Happy Thanksgiving Eve Local Bounty Shoppers – Our update is out a day early this week and that only means one thing, we’re open today (from 2 to 6 p.m.). We will be closed tomorrow, but normal business hours will resume Friday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Saturday (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).

We cannot thank you all enough for your support of our market and efforts to provide year-round access to locally grown foods. During this week of thanks, we hope you and yours are brought together around a table full of bountiful goods that will nourish your body and your soul.

Hall-RB-Hill Farm

Happy snowy Thanksgiving from beautiful Coshocton County! This week we will have pull apart dinner rolls that are sure to impress and Swiss braid bread that goes with everything. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and thanks for buying local!

Keene Creek Farm

This Thanksgiving season we are truly humbled by and grateful to our dedicated customers. As we move into December we look forward to offering our complete line of pork products to you again. Yes, bacon will be back before Christmas. Thank goodness. We’d like to have our Local Bounty freezer emptied (and it’s almost there) before the new batch of pork arrives. So, the customer who purchases the last pack of meat we have in the freezer will receive a complimentary “pork-aholic” T-shirt from our farm. Just leave your name and contact information with the volunteer working and we will be in touch with you. Many thanks again and we wish you safe travels and healthy eats this Thanksgiving.

Loveridge House Brand

Why not give the gift of food this holiday season? Starting this Friday, we will have our nut butter holiday packs available at Local Bounty. Each pack includes one 4 oz. pack of peanut butter, cashew butter, almond butter and smokey almond butter! Our other butters are 8 oz. jars. They will be in an attractive white gift box.

Mill Creek Homestead

Pre-Thanksgiving Sale – tomorrow only, get our pumpkin spice and Thanksgiving duckie soaps for .50 off the regular price. Our shelves are also getting a Christmas makeover, we have gift baskets and boxes to fit any gift price range. From a shaving bar set to a lavender gift basket, give a simple and useful gift this holiday season.

Mullet Apiaries

We are thankful for all the wonderful customers and friends we have made through our Mullet Apiaries business. We’ve met some fantastic folks on this journey. We wish all a safe, happy and sweet holiday season as we continue to offer our honey, creamed honey, and beeswax products, from “our girls” to you.

Strawberry Hill Farm

Happy snowy Thanksgiving to everyone! This week at the store we have kale, acorn squash, sweet potatoes, kohlrabi (crisp and cool for your relish tray), Swiss chard, and free range eggs. And don’t forget our strawberry jam for your Thanksgiving table.

Sunnybook Acres

Comin’ your way in time for thanksgiving. Fresh homemade and GMO free white or wheat bread, cinnamon rolls, granola with no added sugar, scrumptious brownies, and something different – peanut brittle made without corn syrup or gmo’s. And it is absolutely delicious. Happy eatin’ to y’all.

Thousand Hill Acres LLC

We will be heading to our processor today to pickup more pork. So, our freezer will be stocked with all of our quality cuts! In them, you will find Hot Italian sausages, more bacon, a whole ham, ham slices and thick cut pork chops along with our normal variety. Remember our entire product line is now MSG Free! Thanks.

Windy Hill Berry Farm

With the temperatures in the teens and low twenties this week, we added row covers to the planted raised beds in the hoop house. We also installed a tie down to the roll up sides to keep the sides from bellowing in the high winds that have accompanied the cold temperatures. Along with all the added protection it is tough to keep the plants from freezing once we get into the teens. To give some added heat we have installed a series of lights that will add to the warmth. When the temperatures were at a high of 29 outside and the sun shining Martin was working inside with a comfortable 55 degrees. Spring spinach is planted along with green onions, beets, and kale.  We have stocked the store with fresh eggs and English Muffins that will keep you full while fighting the crowds on Black Friday and Shop-Small Saturday. As Thanksgiving approaches, we would like to thank everyone for their trust in our products. We appreciate your support.

Blessings to you and your family this Thanksgiving.
