Chaney PictureOmar Chaney, 85, of Blissfield passed away at his home on Saturday March 21, 2015.

He was born in Holmes County on July 21, 1929 to the late Jack and Mary Chaney.

Omar served in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked many jobs before retiring. He was a life time member of the Killbuck VFW. He loved gardening, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Omar is survived by his children Karen (Jerry) Bevins, Brenda Bush and Robin (Norma) Chaney all of Coshocton, David (Stacy Rice) Chaney of Blissfield and Mary (Greg) Phillips of Millersburg; seven grandchildren Jeremy (Brooke) McFarland, Karla Bevins, Stefani Bush, Paige Howard, Robb Bush, Brittany Phillips, Ashly Phillips and William Omar Keith Chaney; great grandchildren Brenna Udder, Zen Howard, Donovan McFarland, Joriann Mowery, Braxton McFarland, Scarlett Bush, Bryndal Mowery, Carrigan Mowery, and Wylan Wright; sister Bette Unkle.

USFlagSunlightHC1311_X_300_C_YAlong with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Lillian Chaney; son Douglas Chaney and son in law Dale Bush.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday March 25, 2015 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM where funeral services will begin at 6:00 PM. Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will also be performing military honors at the funeral home.

Per Omar’s wishes, a cremation will take place after the funeral service with burial of his cremated remains to take place in Blissfield Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Coshocton County Veteran Council, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
