William Jerome “Jerry” Helbling

Jerry Helbling PictureWilliam Jerome “Jerry” Helbling, 64, of Coshocton passed away at Grant Medical Center in Columbus after a brief illness on Saturday March 30, 2013.  Jerry was born in Coshocton on November 10, 1948 to the late Joseph and Clarita (Hiser) Helbling.  He graduated from Coshocton High School in 1966 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.  He was a dedicated lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coshocton.  Jerry had worked for Broken Arrow, Simco Peabody Coal Company in his earlier years and was currently working at AK Steel.  He is survived by his loving wife Darlene (Whiteus) Helbling; devoted children Michele (Chris) Hampton of Newark, Tina (Brian) Albertson of Conesville and Thomas “T.J.” Helbling of Coshocton; brothers and sisters Paul (Kathleen) Helbling of Liberty Center, OH, Linda Ayers of Cincinnati, Jim (Debbie Cherry) Helbling of Lakewood, Rita (Butch) West of Dover, Tim Helbling of Coshocton and Phil (Shelley) Helbling of West Lafayette; grandchildren Devyn Albertson, Zach Hampton, Riley Albertson, Kenzie Albertson and Madison Hampton; several brother in laws , sisters in law’s, nieces, nephews and friends.  Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday April 3, 2013 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Catholic Wake service to begin at 8:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 805 Main St., Coshocton on Thursday at 10:30 AM with Father William Hritsko officiating.  Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and/or New Life Ministries Food Pantry, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.  An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com .
