William “Kirk” Love

WEST LAFAYETTE – William “Kirk” Love, 66, of West Lafayette, Ohio passed away Monday, August 13, 2018. He was born in Rigby, Idaho on May 9, 1952 to the late William H. and Barbara (Bowen) Love.

Kirk graduated high school in Shelley Idaho. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and served as an air traffic controller in Vietnam, he later served in the Utah National Guard. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Math and Accounting from Weber State University, and a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University. He also attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho.

Kirk was a Professor at Utah Valley University, following his career as a computer software engineer. He is a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and member of the West Lafayette Masonic lodge #602. He was a very adventurous man who loved fishing, camping, panning for gold, building computers, and working with youth. He had a lifetime of curiosity which served him well in many advanced areas.

Kirk is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sandra (Porteus) Love; children Jarid (Jessica) Love, Jason (Mia) Love, Andrew (Shylla) McClain Hicks, Jessica (Danny) Birrell, Teressa (Scott) Gale, Natasha (Jason) Isom and Carrie (Chaz) Love-Hullinger; 25 grandchildren; siblings Janice Gordon, Kelvin (Angelica) Love and Kyle (Claudia) Love and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Janae (Martinez) Love; daughter Maquisha, and parents William and Barbara Love.

Friends and family may call at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 920 Hill Street, Coshocton, Ohio, 43812 on Saturday for a viewing from 11:00am-1:00pm with funeral services beginning at 1:00pm with President Lynn Jacobs officiating. Services and burial will take place in Orem, Utah at a later time. The Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton is serving the family.
